The Wirral is lieterally ‘awash’ with opportunities for both experienced sailors and those wishing to learn. Just 5 minutes from the hotel you will find the world famous West Kirby Marine Lake which comes complete with its very own sailing school.

Wirral Sailing Centre, based at Marine Lake, offers water sports activities with courses available to eight year olds and over. It is recognised by the Royal Yachting Association, approved by the British Canoe Union and is registered with the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority.

The 52 acre lake is totally enclosed, mainly non-tidal, offering water sport activities for all to enjoy. Private craft can be admitted by purchase of daily lake licence, annual or seasonal licence - costs for 2010/2011 are shown in the table below.

The Sailing Centre offers water sports activities and courses to all aged 8 and over an all abilities, including:
Courses : Windsurfing, dinghy, canoe and more…
Tasters : Three hour "have-a-go" sessions available in either sailing, windsurfing or kayaking.
Group Bookings: Available to youth groups, schools, scouts etc.
Childrens' Parties: Two hours of fun and games on the water. Room available for your own refreshments afterwards.
Private Tuition: An ideal refresher if you're a bit rusty. If you can't spare a whole weekend or you just want to learn a bit each week, then this is the way for you.
